A project close to our hearts, helping the Devlin family & Fig Tree team rebuild after a devastating fire late in 2019.
It was important to the client to preserve the essence of the Fig Tree. Their original family home and an iconic Byron Bay wedding venue.
In keeping with the cottage style of the original farmhouse, we used reclaimed timbers, both internally and externally. The previously renovated outdoor gazebo area remained intact after the fire and needed to flow through to the rebuild of the restaurant. As both a wedding venue and restaurant, the space needed to be functional for both uses, as well as being a neutral but beautiful space to suit wedding styling of different aesthetics.
TESTIMONIAL
“I have had the privilege of working with Ky & her team on two occasions for Fig Tree – the original renovation of our old Queenslander and then, following a fire, a brand new commercial build.
Ky & her team introduced wow factors throughout the build, ideas, methods & materials that I had not even considered. Working with a set profit margin Ky & her team put their heart & soul into every element, whether that be CAD drawings, fabric & tile samples to light, wind & noise considerations.
As with any build, there is always the unexpected, weather & time but we also had a fire, COVID, family, insurance & finances to deal with. Ky was able to mediate, navigate & massage the projects through each hurdle smoothly & professionally. I could not be happier & look forward to many more projects in the future.”
